leaf bolts?
I'm getting ready to install my lift, and was wondering what size the bolts on leaf springs, front and back were, in case I have to cut them out of the bushings or sleeves.

i would like to know this as well. i just swapped my rear leaves, & had to reuse the old bolts (luckily i didn't strip them). local napa didn't have anything close, they suggested the hardware store. should i go grade 8? (these also look like the same bolts that the steering gear box is held in with.)

Hope you dont mind me piggy-backing as well, but Im putting in replacement leafs and shackles this weekend (hopefully) if I can find the info. Dont want to be without them in case I need to cut too.

New bolts came with my rc kit because it had a shackle but the top bolt was different than the one that came out so I had to reuse it. I doubt this was helpful at all

21mm head size.
factory leaf bolts are M14 x 2.0 pitch x 120mm long, class 10.9, flange head, nipple tip.
These are fairly hard bolts to find - may want to try a dealer (probably the cheapest route in this case)

Napa may have these ,, see the words MAY HAVE,, they do carry a good selection of both sae and metric at our Napa's here but my area is quite industry bound up here.(they even had a metric bolt for a belt tensioner on a 97 sebring.Try that at ottoknowzone.)

Dukie: Is that the same for all 3 bolts? Front leaf, rear leaf to shackle, shackle to vehicle? Thanks for the info, its really appreciated!

yes. the rear leaf and shackle bolts use loose nuts. The front bolt uses a welded nut.

Right. Thank you, sir.
PS: I just looked in my XJ dealer catalog and it has these bolts listed. Dont know why I didnt think to check there.
Also, just found a set of 6 nuts & bolts on teamcherokee.com for $50 bucks. Is that a decent price? Seems high for some nuts and bolts, but Ive never bought these before so I dont know.

Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know I have been searching EVERYWHERE for these bolts, and they are NOT easy to find. I called a number of Jeep OEM part suppliers web sites and NONE had or could get them. I called 7 different part stores within 2 hours of me and again, NOBODY had or could get them (apparently due to the fact they theyre metric). Those stores include Car Quest, NAPA, Advance Auto, VIP, Varneys, Home Depot and Lowes. FINALLY I called the Chrysler dealer in Augusta, which is 2 1/2 hours from me, figuring if they had them a family member could pick them up and ship them to me. They had them in stock alright. SCORE!!!! $6.75 for the bolts, $5.25 for the nuts which is $72 even for 6 nuts and bolts. WHAT!?!?!?!?! And I thought team Cherokee was high. They were the ONLY place on line that I could find this bolt, and they were $49.95 for a set of six. So, if you need these, theyre probably the place to go. I purchased some other things to make the shipping worth wild. Just wanted to give a heads up to the others out there. looking for these.
