I have recently lifted my 96 XJ. I did an s10 bastard pack with shocks in the back and drop shackles, 4 degree shims. In the front Rubicon Express 3.5” lift coils with Billstein shocks from a Wrangler. Sway bar extensions brake extensions etc. I have 25mph vibration and plan on doing transfer case drop to address that. I drive on 31” tires. The lift is about 3.5 - 4” at this point. However, there is a problem...
It drove great, but was going down highway 65mph, sign on road says “bump” (oh****face.jpg). Experienced my first death wobble, so stopped driving over 40mph and limped home. Passenger lower control arm mount is bent, I suspect from the deathwobble.
Ive considered getting beefy mounts, but I am not a welder (yet). I’m considering that the LCA angle might contribute to stress on the mount and perhaps I should put an LCA drop.
What do you all think of pounding the mount back in line and installing an LCA drop mount. The structure of the mount appears to link the upper and lower mounts and as such reinforces both in addition to adding bolt ons to the frame to add another attachment - not to mention that the drop brackets add beef to the mounts and lie flush along the frame effectively anchoring it.
So im thinking instead of installing simply new brackets which cost about $40 and require cutting grinding welding, that I just go ahead and buy a drop kit. What say you all?

A controll arm drop isn't needed for 3.5" coils, it will make your control arms to low. With your amount of lift stock controll arms and mounts usually work fine but you can switch to an adjustable lower if you need to so your caster angle will be correct.
