Default Know what this is?

M in the process of building my 2x6 rockers and found this inside my old rocker and it needs to go in order for my 2x6 to fit in there flush with the pinch seam. Is it a seat bracket bolt or something? Will it be ok if I grind the nut off and just weld it in place?

Looks to be the bolt that holds the seat belt retract-er, can't you drill a hole in your slider where it meets this? If you try to rig the the seat belt are you gonna feel safe ? I say modify the slider

i didn't want to compromise the structural integrity of the tube. but its better than having a faulty seat belt i guess

tac that nut down for extra security and cut a hole in the slider.

dont worry about the tube getting weak.

if you can weld it shouldnt be a problem

At 2X6 your not gonna lose much, and wouldn't you rather compromise a slider than your safety!

Just went out and looked at mine bc I didn't remember seeing that when I did my sliders. It looks like it'd be right in the middle of the floor area, don't think I'd be anything that ran into the cabin area.
