Default Knocking from driveline while coasting or braking.

All of a sudden I'm getting a hard knocking sound/feeling when I coast or brake. It goes away under acceleration. It is directly related to the speed of the vehicle. Feels very solid, like a hammer knocking on the rear differential or transfer case. I do not have an SYE, just transfer case drop. Could this be causing it? I thought slip yoke issues were usually vibrations under acceleration but it's the only thing I can think of here.

99 XJ
4" or so lift in rear

Thanks for any advice.

Nope, went through everything and couldn't find anything loose. Checked u joints, no play in those either.

Had my diff welded last week...wondering if something could have gone wrong in there.

Actually, did you go around the rear suspension and make sure everything is tight, nothing snapped off?

Hey guys thanks for the advice. I think I may have figured it out. I'm no mechanic, but something about this doesn't look right.
