did you use a TC drop or a SYE?

if not then your probably encountering vibration problems and it should be addressed very soon.

Not driving the vehicle until corrected - This was discovered in short distance - What size drop should I install?

what year is your XJ?

if it has the sealed output, you can run around in FWD for the meantime if you have to (remove rear shaft and engage 4wd).

my jeep has spent probably 2 months of its life in FWD during times of despair with driveshafts

it as a sealed output shaft so like heavy said you can remove the rear shaft and run in FWD for awhile. but i would highly recommend getting a SYE or a HnT to perminatly correct these driveshaft issues.

heres the HnT
