Hey guys! I got lucky and won a $25 gift certificate to 4WD/4WP and was thinking about what to get with it. I finally reached the decision of a 5 gallon Jerry Can that is DOT approved. You have to buy the mount separately for like another $20 bucks. In total, the set-up runs about $70. But, I have the dilemma as to where to mount it. Outlaw Star drilled into his fiberglass hatch, put long bolts through to the other side and attached it that way (OS, if you see this, correct me if I'm wrong). He has had issues with theft of gas and theft of a jerry can with 1/3 diesel,1/3 water, 1/3 gasoline, and a cup of sugar
. So, sadly, people LOVE to steal in South Florida. I love the look of the JC on the outside but like I mentioned, if there is no way to lock it down (that is affordable). If I can secure it, I'd love it on the outside, but don't wanna drill through the hatch IF i don't have to. But, if it has to go inside, it's gotta go inside. It is DOT approved so it is o-ring sealed and that good stuff so fumes won't be an issue.
If it can go outside, where? If it HAS to go inside, where?
Also, I have the stock roof rails if anyone can get creative enough... thanks!

mount it where you like it, outside. Just take it when you may need it and not everyday. if you have it on and are worried about it while you leave it somewhere put it locked inside, then on the outside again. I would put it where you like it and just take it when you think you may need it.
