I upgraded the water pump to a flowkooler, in addition to some other cooling system upgrades done on another video. If you need to know how to change a water pump the quick way or want to see the upgrade this video will help.

 

Do you see a difference with the higher flowing water pump? Others reported no change, so I am curious.

 

With everything a radiator, jeep grand cherokee fan and water pump the needle temp has come down overall. The problem is it has not been 110+ degree here since i did the upgrade. So i have no idea if the overheating condition will come back until next year. I have not put a gauge on it to see what the temp actually is but i know they run about 210. I would guess normal run temp is closer to 200 now. I know the clutch is still running regularly during normal run conditions so i have not dropped so low the thermostat is not opening. It normally opens at 195. Plus with the cap off while filling that is evident. I think if you just did the pump you would see little to no change. It is just supposed to flow more fluid so the overall cooling is more even. In other words no hot and cold spots.

 

Which radiator did you replace the stock one with? I've been looking at upgrading my cooling system in the near future.

 

It is a mishimoto. There are only a few upgrades on the market for the Jeep Cherokee. Most companies make replacement oem style.

 

I swear if anyone is mean to him about the Mishimoto radiator I'm gonna smack you with a flip flop...

 

i had a guy on the link for the fan clutch and radiator swap say mishimoto radiators suck. I have not heard that and i can't see an aluminum radiator being worse then the stock one when stock has plastic caps, smaller rows and steel to dissipate heat. So i would take any complaints with a grain of salt.
