jeep won't stay running

I just replaced the alternator and I started my jeep up and it ran fine for a few minutes so I shut it off and went back inside and went to leave a few hours later and now it starts and runs for two seconds then shuts off I'm mind boggled any help please ???

was the battery dead before you replaced the alternator? Put it on a charger for a few hours then try - if the battery is weak it won't let the truck run

Also could be the ballast resistor for the fuel pump. It's a white plastic looking think on the drivers side fender, pull the wires off the terminals and jumper them together to bypass the resistor and try again.
