emailed them and they said they haven't made instructions for the skid and that its pretty simple to install...there's screw-on things that i haven't ever seen before and an odd number of bolts and nuts, there's an even number of holes in the skid but only 1 big nut, 2 locknuts, and 2 long screws. i just don't know exactly where they belong..

It doesn't sound like you have everything. There should be 6 nutserts, 6 bolts for the nutserts, nutsert install tool (looks like a bolt with extra washers, nuts, etc). That hardware attaches the skid to the outsides if the unibody rails on each aide of the xj. There are 3 self tapping bolts that affix the skid to the front if the t-case cross member. Then 2 pan head Allen bolts with nuts that attach the skid to the bottom if the t-case cross member. I didn't like the nutserts, so I drilled holes through the unibody rail and used long bolts and nuts with appropriate sized washers to attach the sides. If you do this, pay attention to the brake lines that are in the way!

The link to the instructions is in my first post. Read them and you should be able to figure it out.
