Default Jack Setup for Lifted XJ

I'm about to pull the trigger on this jack setup for my lifted XJ (4" of actual lift from 3" Zones lift springs, 31.7" tires).

Anyone have a better suggestion?

I'm also thinking about getting the bunker traction boards with jack base and would have to get a metal plate to make this work as it's designed for a farm jack.

Or I could get something like this to just make the stock jack work:

Amazon Amazon

Anyone have thoughts or experience with jacks they'd be willing to share?

I've seen scissors jacks fail, I have an HF 12ton bottle jack that I've been meaning to get an axle saddle for.

Seems mighty expensive for a scissor jack.

Both my XJ's have bottle jacks stowed in the back (they can fail too, but not without some advance warning, although I've never known it) I imagine they're 5 ton, but it's height that's important. Try to avoid one with a silly little "button" on the top & also carry a piece of 1/2" min wood, at least 6" square, to stand jack on in soft (including hot tarmac) or uneven ground.

Thanks for the replies. I went and got a bottle jack at HF that I'll try to fit in the spot of the stock one and got a top for it that will hold the axle shaft.

I have a high lift jack mounted under my back seat. To mount the high lift under the back seat, I drilled two 3/8" holes in the driveshaft hump (section of floor) and used long 3/8 bolts with washers and nuts to make studs. Drop the jack over the two studs, and have some wing nuts that hold the jack down. If I remember correctly, I had to hammer the driveshaft hump flat in that area for the jack to sit right. I store the jack with the foot separate and the the lift foot has to be very close to the bottom of the rail for the seat to sit right. I don't remember the height of my high lift and I'm out of state right now, you'll have to measure to see what will fit.

I made an adapter for the high lift to grab the pipe on my rock rails or a wheel. I also have 3/16" plate steel bumpers I built that the high lift will lift just fine. The wheel adapter is great for situations where your axle is hung up on something, you can lift the wheel and jam stuff under the tire until the axle tube is off the object (log or rock in trail). Lifting the wheel from the face of the wheel alleviates the need to crawl under the jeep in likely mucky areas. Scissor jacks are also great for changing motor mounts. I had a 02 Z28 I did long tube headers and poly mounts on. I caught hell getting the mount bolts back in. I put a scissor jack between the frame and motor to push the motor over to get the bolt in. Worked great!

Wheel Adapter - I made one very similar to this. I welded a 'u' on top like the rock rail adapter to function for either use.

Don't throw the scissor jack away! They are great for use in the garage. I use them for propping things up during fitup. I recently installed frame stiffeners and boatsides on mine. A couple scissor jacks with some cribbing under them made easy work of lining things up. It is not ideal to use a hydraulic floor jack for that kind of work - jacks leak down, fine adjustment is cumbersome, and hot work is not good around hydraulic cylinders.
