issues with closed system to open
ok i bought a new radiator for a 94 for my 88. i thought oh hell all i will need to do is add and overflow, but apparently i am wrong. I pretty much need to know everything about how to get the new system to work. If anyone who has done this has any advice i will really appreciate it.

Radiator Conversion
You'll have to get a heater control valve from a 92' up Cherokee

You'll need a 92' up Cherokee Thermostat housing to relocate the new fan switch. The new housing has a hole for the switch. The old one does not. The switch is in the radiator.

You'll need a 2 blade Painless Wiring Coolant Temp Sensor Switch and splice that into your old wiring. The new radiator does not have the fan switch.
I put white plumbers tape around the threads to make sure it fit tight and leak proof.

And of course a good coolant overflow tank. If you don't have this you will suck air into the radiator and overheat.

Purging
Here's another tip. When refilling the radiator make sure the radiator is full with the cap off. Start the engine and turn on the heater. Run it until the thermostat opens. You need to burp out any air in the system or you'll have over heat problems. The radiator fluid will start to overflow as it warms up and burps, put the cap back on and make sure your coolant overflow tank is full.

ok i figured it a 1994 radiator hooks right up with everything i needed. i was having trouble with the hoses but i just bought new hose and hooked everything up strait. it works great besides its running a little cooler than i want it to so im going to get a higher thermostat because mine opens at 160.

CSF 3 row radiator and most cooling system components are all new, Grand Cherokee fan clutch, water pump, thermostat, overflow tank, heater valve, fan shroud...
