dude, i'm just saying that you're posting something you heard about on the internet. if you had a set of QA1s wear out prematurely on you, yea, that would be a valid opinion. i have plenty of miles, and i know many people IRL who have lots of miles on heims without any problems.

Interested to hear experiences.

I've had mine on for roughly a year now. It was tricky getting everything set up right in the beginning, but now it works great. The only thing that I've noticed, and IRO notes it in the install instructions, is that on the passenger side the tire may rub on the draglink. They recommend either a different backspace wheel, or some wheel spacers. I just make sure I don't go full stop when turning to the driver side.

I don't have a problem with rubbing on mine at all. But I'm on soft 8's with 4" of backspacing.

I have an RE single sheer track bar in my garage right now with a worn out heim and only less than 6 months old. Nowhere in my comments did I say, "I read on the internet..." I emailed RE and they said to call them and they'll replace it for free. So, no it's not just what I heard on the internet.

To be fair, it seemed like very blanketed statement on the quality of all heims.

either way

cheap heims suck
quality heims don't suck
if a heim is used past the working angle its made for, the life is drastically reduced.

I just found this through google on a dana 30 and kinda like it. appears to use lhd and rhd wj knuckles.

noob question: wouldn't that d30 high steer be goofy 'cause the track bar is totally not on the same plane as the drag link?

Yup, the trackbar should be raised at the axle side to avoid bumpsteer.

It looks like a total mess on the pass side, and looking close, seems like someone put in a higher mount for the track bar (just not using it in this pic??? too short maybe) and a boogered sway bar mount...i really want to do this on my heep, but want to stay at 3"...doesn't look like it would all fit under there with low lift and highsteer like that...dunno.

At 3" an OTK standard crossover steering kit will work for that height. Add the over the axle track bar and you are ready to go. No need to but the expensive knuckles for an extra 3 inches, especially when you are that low. Just relocating the drag link over the stock knuckle raises it about 2-1/2".

Well... lookin at all the bad talk about Heims on the street, i looked in to the JCR OTK kit. I didnt know that the track bar relocation(over the axle) is optional. With the drop pitman arm, and Synergy track bar system I just ordered I think ill be fine without relocating the track bar axle mount(for the time being). Im okay with not having a sway bar, I removed mine a while back(sold it with scrap metal by accident ). I have gotten used to not having one. So until I buy the currie antirock I want, going swaybarless will be ok. The only issue I see is not having a steering stabilizer. JCR says to remove the mounts and doesnt even hint at having a stabilizer again. Is this an issue, or should I not be worried?

Any obejection to the JCR OTK? I have only read good things about it. or is there another OTK with tierod ends or similar I should look into?

BTW, I know I woke up a dead thread I started I while ago. But its time that I do this upgrade and really need answers soon. and thank you for all the good technical/helpfull responses
