Then i bought some blue led strips, and placed them on the inside door trim, but that was way to bright, i took the strip out and kept the 1156 blue led light.

They were a little bigger than the stock bulb, but it went straight in with no modification, also just a tip a 1156 led light will not work in the engine bay light, dont know why but it wont. Hope you the best.

Did this to my XJ recently, went with warm 5050 panels to match the tan interior a little better than cool white. Not much interest in the thread though

Going to be doing some covert red LED's wired to the constant +12v line that is in the dome harness as well. Wire them to a little switch to have some tactical red lighting. Stay tuned;
The driver's side footwell still has the stock standard incandescent bulb, which is actually BRIGHTER than the stock dome bulb. The single panel up front is still at least twice as bright.
I have two panels in the rear dome light, and it throws more light than a 14w CFL, which is pretty bright as is.

I just soldered a festoon adapter to the copper tabs (holders) that is in the dome light and just inserted the festoon LEDs. Took me 10 mins each. I put in some warm whites. Didn't like it, I think I ll order ultra white.

Right now the way mine sits I have 18 led's in the back DL 18 led's in the front and 9 each on each side under the dash and with dark burgundy interior it's plenty bright. I think I'm gonna go with red for the gauges and the rest of the dash will get the bright white. Then onto the exterior bulbs.

I have two map lights in the front, two map lights in the back, and a dome light in the cargo. They all have the same setup as in the pictures. I don't know why they'd be different Mine's a Classic though, maybe that has something to do with it? Idk

If you do the map lights don't use panel LED's. I put a 9 panel behind each one and yes they work and yes they are bright but the curved lens on the map light shines 9 little spots down at the dash. The wife said it looks like a disco ball but with out the spinning. LOL
