Default Installing Lift

Ok so my lift came in today. I went with a RC X Series 4.5" lift. My cousin is a dealer so I decided to do business with him. As far as leafs being to short and all that. I will deal with that later. What else do I need to do while Ive got this thing torn apart? Shackle bushings? Control arm bushings? Could anyone give me a lil info up front so I can get the parts gathered and try to do all this at once? Thanks Also the insulator??? or spacer on top the coil has some cracks in it. Should I replace that? Urethane? Stock? What should I do on that one? Thanks again

Plenty of asprin to start with. You won't need control arm bushings since it come with new control arms. I wouldn't waste any money on the stock shackles since you'll be replacing them when you buy the shackle relocaters since the springs will be short and you can't use a stock shackle with them. Start spraying down all your bolts and nuts with some kind of penetrating oil and plan on breaking a few. The stock isolater tends to crack a little but if it's not bad just run it. Good luck getting the leaves bolted in. There are tons of stories online of tricks people have found, most aren't very safe but you do what you have to sometimes.

Ok what about boomerang shackles? And does the shackle relocater raise it any more?

Some add lift and some don't. I like boomerang shackles but with the relos they aren't needed.

Ok say I go with a relocator. If it adds 1.5" of lift. Could I use a spacer on top of coil to even things out? And does that spacer replace the insulator?

I might be getting a pair myself. But keep in mind these involve cutting/grinding off the stock shackle box. (Something to keep in mind for preparation).

These are no lift SRB http://froehlichsuspension.3dcartsto...e-XJ_p_22.html

Or if you want to ditch running shackles. Check these out http://liquidironindustries.com/XJ-J...f-Sliders.html
