I’ve finally found a set online that fit my 2.5. After a bad run in with a set that sprayed fuel everywhere and damn near blew my Jeep sky-high, I started looking for part numbers on what would fit this 2.5 with the EV1 connector, which is OBD1.

The part number is 0280155710. They come from the 4.6 Ford engine, some older Volvo 6 cylinders, and a few other Ford engines.

I got my set of 4 off of eBay, and they worked actual wonders. Off the bat, it idled funny because the PCM wasn’t used to the 4 holes of the new injectors, as well as the slightly increased volume. When the idle calmed down, it started to idle very smooth. The idle wasn’t erratic and rough, and it was more consistent.

However, as soon as I let off the clutch and get going, you really feel the responsiveness. It no longer “stumbles”, it just goes. As far as a butt dyno goes, it feels somewhat more “full”. Not faster, but more power behind it when passing at WOT or cruising up a hill. I don’t have to use the throttle as much, and if I decide to floor it in 5th, it doesn’t hesitate and it just goes like the happy little thing she is now.

As far as gas mileage goes, that is yet to be seen. I’m hoping for at least some increase in MPG, but it’ll probably only be a max of 1 MPG increase. But still, better than nothing.

Now, I had the original injectors on my Jeep, so a lot of this that i’ve described could just be because of how old my other ones were, but who knows.
