Injectors?
I have questions about injector up grades that I haven't found the answer by searching. I am building a 4.6 stroker and I'm looking to do an injector upgrade while I am at it. I have a 97 sport with 4.0 aw4. Which injectors do I need the neon or 5.0 mustang? Do either of these have a higher flow rate than the stock 4.0 injectors? and one more question not on that topic does the 4.0 and 4.2 straight six engines have the same firing order? Thanks in advance for your guys help!

You would want at least a 24LB injector the first question for you would be what injector connector do you have a EV1 or EV6? If you have a EV1 I would buy a Neon 703 if you have a EV6 like me, I personally really like the Bosch 849. I am running them right now. Once you find out what type of clip you have there are a bunch of people selling cleaned injectors here. There are a bunch of other injectors you can use but the 703 and 849 have the best results.
Once you find what connector you have this guy sells injectors.

Injectors
I have a 99 Cherokee with the EV6 style electrical connection on the injectors.
I have a stroked motor and am running 99 Dodge Neon 784 injectors
A improved difference, but I do have a set of Ford 24# injectors with the EV1 connector. I bought a set of electrical connectors from American Muscle, They specialize in Mustang stuff. The connector i needed was to convert from EV6 to EV1. When I got them they wouldn't click onto the the top of the injector. Would not fit at all. they really look like chinese crap. They cost $49.99 plus shipping. I'm returning them tomorrow for the refund less the shipping. I do know that Ford Crown Vic connectors will work and I have a set I got at the JY. They click right on as they should, just have to soldier them on

"702" or "703" work. They are the same.
Factory is 22.5# and 23.5# depending on year. Ford 24# have been known to be too rich. Check your plugs. They tell the tale.

lots of info here.http://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/...ad.php?t=92236
figure out the flow of the injectors at 49 psi, the native pressure of your fuel system.
eg a 703 injector will flow 23.9#/hr @ 49psi.
injector flow rates are meaningless unless the pressure is stated with it.
Adjustable map sensors are handy as well, for fine tuning.
how many hp ar you expecting from the build?

Just put my 24# Fords in today....a nice improvement over the 784 Neons I had in there. I'm using Crown Vic clips, soldered in for the EV1 connectors. 280 150 947 are the numbers on my Ford injectors that I am using

I have LT1 injectors and matching MAP sensor on my 4.9L. As for firing order, the Renix 4.0 and AMC 4.2 share the same firing order. They both used either Bendix or Motorcraft distributers. The Renix 4.0 was a destroked 4.2 still made by AMC.

I have a list of vehicles the 703 injectors come out of, but not the Volvo or Ford injectors for the EV1 plug.
Since it seems to be so difficult around me to have a yard pull injectors (even out of a trashed engine), I need to start searching for everything at once.
First: Get a set of 703 injectors for the current set-up.
BUT, will the 703's handle my turbo plans?
If not...
Second: need a set of injectors for the 4.0 turbo engine. What to get? Input?
Thanks
Jason
