So i decided to do the neon injector swap today in my 94 inline six. i got a set of six 784 out of a couple neons. The clips are different but does that matter?(i'm sure it does but i'm not sure why) because i plugged them in and the injectors work and the jeep runs.

You got 784's or 703's? The 784's have EV6 style connectors and the 703's have the EV1 style. Up until 98.5 XJ's ran the EV1 style connector. So you have be running 703's sense they are out of a neon.
I may have this backwards...If so, someone correct me.
Edit*I did the injector swap on my 92. If I get a free minute before I leave work this evening I'll let you know which ones I have in there. I'm 99.9% positive they are 703's but I did it so long ago I can't remember

^^ you got it right. He either needs the 703 injectors or you can get adapters to make the 784s work. Search around on here, i know a few people who are selling them.
