I have a 1999 jeep cherokee with a strait six and a 4.0 liter. Every time i start my jeep, It drives for a second or two then the idle goes up and then really low, it will do this a few times but when i give it gas it goes away and it doesn't happen again until i turn the car off and start it up again. It only happens for the first 15 or 30 seconds but my car has gotten to the point then when it does happen, it will stall out every now and then. its stalled twice in the past week and its starting to stress me out. i just ordered a new IAC but i don't know if that will work. any advice?

 

Sounds like a IAC problem.

Did you try cleaning the IAC? Search the forum on how to clean the TB and IAC.

 

Did you check codes with a scanner? Maybe TPS (throttle position sensor) Try to get a code read on your obd2.

 

NFJ79 (i cleaned the iac and i just ordered a new one, also i am about to order a new tps) if that doesnt work, idk what will
