i want a smooth riding 3 inch lift
hey guys i currently have a 98 xj with a 2 inch budget lift. but i am removing that and going with a 3 inch lift. i hate the way my xj rides with the spacers and shackles because its bumpy stiff and i have a death wobble. im going to add a leaf, coils, shocks all around, a steering stabilizer, trac bar, an alignment, control arms, brake line extension, and a .5 inch transfer case drop. i just want tips on how to make the truck ride smoother and not be bumpy as hell. also if the alighnment, control arms and steering stabilizer will help the death wobble, tie rods are good. please help

OME Springs and Shocks are nice put the sticker shock may scare you. Rustys makes has some really soft front springs, around 150lb spring rate. JK shocks should ride decent as well.
Get the alignment done and then work on any DW that remains.

rusty's 3" coils, 3" shackles (or 2.5" shackles with a 1/2" block), and GOOD shocks...
I don;t care how nice your springs are, if you have junk shocks it will RIDE LIKE CRAP

AAL will ride worse than a shackle. Shackle provides, lift, Flex, if it improves the shackle angle softens ride. AAL Just adds lift and stiffness. By the way Death Wobble is caused by worn and miss-adjusted FRONT END suspension and steering components. Rear-Half has no affect on Death Wobble.
You want a good ride get GOOD shocks, such as OME or Bilstine.

They are telling you the truth!
All those guys are speaking from experience... I just bought a new DD, a '99 that prev owner just installed the cheap Rough Country 3" AAL like 5k miles ago...lets just say it will go on the farm-truck XJ or for sale, and the OME 2.5 or 3 will be adorning it very soon. Have had a five lifted XJs with the following: OME HD 3", now this RC 3'", a BB with Bilsteins at ~2.5 inch, and an OME 2.5 inch with a ome rear springs and a better shacks. And when you got a jeep, your friends with dudes with jeeps, and you drive their stuff too...and see what not to get.
Save your bucks and buy the smoothest engineered lift if you want 3":
Get 2.5" OME front springs in the right load rating and use an isolator to get you almost 3". Get the rear OME leaf pack for how much gear you carry...add the small shackle if your jeep needs it to be level as they all can be slightly different, and they settle just a shade-even OME a bit. Bilsteins or OME shocks...just decide if you like yellow or silver/blue because they are both excellent items. I tried Rancho 9000x, Explorer pro comp mx5s, and monroe sensa trac load levelers and reg sensa's... OME or the Bilstein still stand out for smoothness and quality.. the other stuff with the front end should be no-brainer...fix it and align it. Monroe Steer Stab on ebay for 30 bucks shipped with a lifetime warranty...Monroe are made by Tenneco that make half the shocks in the world, so if you bust it you take it to autozone and get your money back or a new one...
OME did all the engineering for that system to work together properly...they always get my hard earned money. DPG offroad, I think his name is Dirk, can give you sound advice and not let you forget any considerations.
