Outer part as you can see is almost fully rusted away the inner isn't in great shape either.

Ouch. I have the same dilemma on my passenger side but not quite that bad. I'm going to weld in new steel.

Salad, are you sure that it's 19ga?

A proper cut'n'fold doesn't have the bracket for the flares, of course.

like 85%. I bought some 22 and it was way thin, some 18 my friend has is thicker. Goggle searching said 19 and a whole lot of other random numbers, but 19 was the most consistent lol. I'm used to AWG so this steel stuff is new to me

You can buy replacement lower quarters, if you're so inclined. You could even rivet those in. Won't be as strong as welding it but plenty strong enough. You could always beef it up with JCR armor or something similar, too. Rust sucks, but it is fixable. I'd rather deal with the quarter panel than my rockers...but lucky me, I get to do both!

I'm going to chop them off. Bend and cut up a nice sturdy piece off metal maybe diamond plate... And then find someone that can do a nice weld job. Seems like this is the best way for me to go. I don't want to keep the quarters any way, for clearance.

So I just hacked all the rust off folded up what was left for now. Going to bend me up a nice piece of metal and have it welded in the bottom. Angled off the rear bumper for esthetics.

Hey, that came out OK! You didn't need a "professional" after all!

I like it. Looks more like a monster truck. Started to cut and fold the flare portion
