I have a 1998 XJ 4.0 5speed, will Hurst Shifters 3915042fit in it? It has a center console. Thanks for any help

 

sure does. It's for the Cherokee... Although you'll have to find a distributor with some new old stock. Hurst quit making them for the Cherokee. I got mine about a month ago and when I spoke with the guys over at Hurst they said the Wrangler one might have some issues with the interior so they gave me that number to verify when I try to source one. Just a heads up, it's a to get those bolts in. Make sure you have a pencil magnet on hand. It'll help. Oh, and take the two bolts out that connect the polished portion to the lower piece and lock-tite the **** out of them. I assumed Hurst had it good and ended up having to take my center console back out to re-tighten those bolts.

Thanks for the information, it is one of the first upgrades in goin to put on it. im 18, an 6'4" and the stock one is a little short

so s14, do you like the shifter? was it a worthwhile improvement over the stock shifter? would you install one again?
