how to make a cad fork stay locked...
I was told there is a way to do this using a bolt and some drilling...how strong is it doing this and is there any other options to keeping this locked in other then a right side axle shaft swap...the reason for this is my shift fork snapped on me when I was climbing a steep snowy hill...leaving me stranded....any help or products that fix this is greatly appreciated

the very easiest way is to just use a hose clamp to hold the shift fork in the engaged position.
just pull the shift motor, slide the collar over, install a hose clamp around the axle shaft, slide it up against the shift collar and tighten it. then move the shift fork over to line up with the groove in the collar. i installed the hose clamp so that the excess turns with the axle shaft but you can just cut the excess off.
this held up fine for a few years till i replaced the whole axle.
if it ever pops out of engagement, it's an easy 10 minute fix on the trail. 5 mins if you're quick with the tools.
edit: i had the posi-lok cable installed on mine, so you may have to pull a vacuum line so it won't try to disengage it.

say what you want, but my 13 cent hose clamp worked for me for a few years trouble free. then you have a spare clamp if ever you needed one to get you off the trail. lol
