Default how high?

so i bought my 99 xj two years ago. craigslist baby. didn't rly do much with it 'cept mud it and it became my dd. didn't know a thing bout xj's when i bought it 'cept it looked damn good and the inline 6's were bullet proof. so i drove it home. the guy told me it had a 3.5" lift on it when i bought it. (keep in mind, at the time i didn't know anything 'bout xj's). so i recently found u guy's( the forum) and have been learning bout xj's since. im not a newb mechanically. but i have an issue. i don't know how high my lift is. it has blocks under the rear leafs. they measure 3.5" but it also has spring helpers(rear leafs were flat, beyond flat...) so now they curve, kinda... the rear brake lines max out with little flex. they r stock btw. my 31-10.50-15's fit fine but i could run 33's with stock flares no fender trim. the front of my xj has aftermarket control arms, but they are some 'off brand' that i still haven't ever found. the shocks were no name, the springs look stock but it has a drop pitman arm and a small t-case drop. my 31's fit under the front with stock flares and no fender trim but they scrub when crammed. i've since replaced the stock with rc nitro 9000's 4.5-6" just cause i want to lift it more. so can anybody tell me how to figure out my lift hight? any help would be appreciated... i can measure anything and tell you anything. just ask...

Measure from the top of the axle tube to the bottom of the subframe.

Stock front is 6.75"

Stock rear is 6.00"

Anything more is your lift.

Do some reading for yourself, but I know I've heard plenty of controversy about blocking the rear leafs. I don't think there is any denying it puts extra stress on leafs.. There is accompany that makes a 1" block that is supposed to be legit, but other than that I'm skeptical...

yea i was extremely surprised i got an answer that fast. i truly had no idea. i figured i'd be comparing ground to rocker measurements with somebody. lol. i swear im not an idiot... haha.

and i think the blocks would be ok if it came with an AAL. but then there'd be no point. my leafs when i got it were ok but not great. i wheeled it, unlike its previous owner and they went down hill. literally, they started flexing down...

Forget the blocks. Get shakles.

Its not just leaf sag, its axle wrap as well.

Ya I would replace the whole leaf pack ASAP, & replace those brake lines for longer ones! If your on a budget search junk yard parts on this forum! S-10 leafs can give u 3.5"-4.5" lift, there's all kinds of longer brake Lines from the junk yard that work

bout how much longer are they? i relocated my front about a month ago. i just bent the line back straight and moved the bracket down. it gave me about 1.5 to 2.5" more in the front. but i plan on lifting a little more so ima need something a little longer
