well, if the spring perches are the correct width for an XJ then it wouldnt take too much.

the only thing i would be worried about is the gearing, does your XJ have 3.73's?

It does not.... It has 3.55, but I'm thinking about going to 3.73, or 4.10 I can get 4.10 8.8 gears easy, or I could get 3.73 or 4.10 D30's from a friend, so It wouldn't take much to match it out. And of course I know that if my front and rear dont match, I cant go into 4x4 w/o breaking something. So if I buy it I wont put it on until I can match up the gears.

also, looks like that one is drum brakes.

if you have your heart set on an 8.8 i would hold out for one that has factory disk brakes, 4.10's, and an LSD.

getting disk brakes is half the benefits of swapping in the 8.8

If you are looking for a mostly DD the LSD is fine if you're looking for something to wheel I would go for an open diff. so you could drop in a lunchbox locker.
