Ok my fellow Jeeper's I need some input. Heres the situation... I made the mistake of jumping the gun on some new leafs do to the great deal I got on them, but now I'm wishing I got more lift. I live in Germany so returning them is out of the question. So I'm looking for everyones experience with AAL's. Are they worth it, or should I just bite the bullet and buy new leaf packs again. Thanks for the help

Alot of people complain of sagging after only a few months. Ive used bds ones on jeeps before, they worked ok.

Seems like everyone has different opinions of them. Some say they work just fine, some say they're crap. I would just go ahead and buy new leaf packs though.

How much more lift are you wanting? You could always go the extended shackle route for around an inch or so. If you do the AAL option, make sure it is a long leaf, and not the short stiff ones. And expect it to settle a bit after install.

My BDS AAL has held up for a few years now, it just rides like crap unless I have some weight in the back.

I would look into extending your shakles and getting relocation brackets. But thats me.

My RC aal has been great for over a year now. Not too stiff and hasn't sagged. I've had aals on my tow truck with good results.

I have heard good and bad but mine has worked for about a year without any problems or sagging (Zone Offroad).

I put a zone offroad 3 inch lift on my Jeep a couple years ago. It has the AALs.

I've wheeled my XJ quite a but, flexed it out, and DD'd it in that time. I've even jumped it.

Never had any issue with them. No sag, still the same height as when it was new, maybe even taller with the 32s I'm running now.

If you have new leafs, aal will work fine. When you add them to crappy old springs they sag since they are doing all the work.

OME makes AAL's that give advertised 1" of lift and are not harsh riding.they increase the the entire leaf pack rate approximately 20%.your pack may be a tad over 1" when first installed, but they will settle.don't know how much lift your looking for, you could always ad a 1-1.5 shackle also.

Rough Country 3" AAL here, settled at 3.25", rides fine (in fact most people tell me that mine is the smoothest riding lift Jeep they have ever been in)

I am also running:

-4.5" RC front coils (also settled around 5.25", pissed me off cause now the Jeep was not level, guess I need a winch now huh)

-home brew shackle relocation brackets
-1.5" RC shackle
-JK front upper and lower control arms, with home made shimmable (adjustable brackets)

honestly the ride with a AAL is all in the shackle angle and the shocks
