It IS structural like a unibody. That's an important pinch seam.

I would weld it but I ride with a guy that cut the spot welds and all out and filled the crack with great stuff lol and it looks like hammered dog crap but holds surprisingly well. Even after he rolled it multiply occasions.

I guarantee moisture will get in there and eat his wheel well inside out with rust.
