I'm gonna do the same thing, picked up my scoops today. Should I run them forwards or backwards? Which would keep me cooler , forcing cool air in or letting hot air out?
Btw I have no insulation on the bottom side of my hood

Face the vents toward the windshield. That will allow the heat to escape instead of causing turbulent air under the hood and canceling out what you are trying to do, which is create more air flow.

went and looked at the scoops today and found that they do have larger ones. As much as I like the way the smaller ones turned out I do wonder if bigger is better.
Only draw back is the bigger ones are twice the price

One other thing I may try and do is find a way to rivet these things on. I may make the hole slightly smaller and cut up some abs to match fit so I have a solid surface to do so.

I just bought two of the autozoo ones today and plan on putting them on this weekend. Not sure if I'm going to paint them yet or not since the black on white will match the way my grille is on the SE.
