Default hole diameter in leaf spring plates

I bought dirtbound leaf spring plates with the integrated bump stop mount. When I test fit the u bolts, I find that the u bolt diameter is smaller than the plate holes so that they have some side to side movement. Is this normal? i expected them to be closer in diameter

Just use a thick washer, or get larger diameter u-bolts.....

They are likely larger so you CAN use larger u-bolts.

A lot are slotted to work with the D35/D44/8.25. Use washers and torque them downl

Thanks for the response. I probably should have clarified that I was referring to the width of the slot. It seems strange to me that the u bolt might not make contact with the plate at all and might allow side to side movement.

If it's propelry torqued, the clamping force won't allow it to move side to side.

Even if it does, the ubolts & the center pin will prevent it moving too far.
