Yes you probably changed the adjuster screws instead of the bracket screws when trying to take the old headlights out. If you took springs out you need to put them back in to get them adjusted correctly. Once done with that aim your headlights at a wall at night time about 50 feet off. Then you can adjust until your heart is content. up, down, left, or right. let me know if you like the HID's was considering some.

You should not be running HID's In a halogen housing. You will get better results running a good set of h4 bulbs. The light from your HID's isn't being focused properly, its getting scattered and blinding on coming traffic. Also you probably lost your hi/lo function. Go back to halogen and get some IPF fatboy bulbs that are 100w/85w and I guarantee your lights will be brighter.

The set I picked up have lo and high beams , they are pretty intense and scattered like you said .. now that I have a non sealed headlight I'll give those bulbs you mention a shot

Switching between 8000k and 6000K will not change the intensity of the light at all. 8000k and 6000k simply refer to the color. 8000k is more blue while 6000k is much whiter with a hint of blue (I have 6000k). To change intensity or brightness you would have to change your ballast. 35w ballast are the most common and will be less bright than a 55w. My guess is that you have a 35w ballast so to avoid tickets aim your headlights down and run lows all the time. I have my HID's in projectors and the light still scatters. I NEVER run hi beams. I simply don't need them.

Yea unless you run a decent set of projectors, IPF halogens are the way to go. Upgrading from sealed beam alone will be a huge difference. what brand are the housings you got?
