So I converted 5 HF 6" offroad lights to HID and mounted them on my roof rack; they've only been up there a week or two and already I've had three bulbs go out on me. I wired them through a 30 amp fuse and individual switches. This is the conversion kit I used: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Slim-XENON-HID-KIT-D2S-H1-H3-H4-H7-H11-H13-9006-9007-RE-/270686915557?hash=item3f06328be5&item=270686915557&pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr I realize this isn't the highest quality kit but is there something I did wrong that's causing the bulbs to fail so soon?
Are the lights just going out or are they going out after being on for a while. Have you also tried to replace the lights with a different brand to see if it is the quality of bulbs in the kit.

They're just going out; one of the times I had them on, flicked them off so I didn't permanently blind some other wheeler, then flicked them back on and one didn't work. This is the same basic jist of how the others quit on me as well. Like I said in my first post, I checked the current and the bulbs are getting power
If just one had gone out on me that would have been one thing, but the fact that three are down makes me think that all of them are going to go out. Seems odd that I would get 3 bad bulbs out of 5.

More likely then anything, your ballasts are going out, not your bulbs. Did you order a set that has a warranty or anything like that? I have a cheap hid kit in my subaru and I have been through 3 ballasts on it already. The other thing is you don't want to constantly turn them on and off, it really wears down the life of them to get flipped off and on all the time.

If the seller won't respond to you then file a complaint with ebay and they will settle it. Luckily my seller was quick to respond and sent me a new set right away. And the difference in a car setup is 1. They have high quality ballasts in their cars so they last much much longer and 2. The HIDs are in a projector housing that is always on and when you use the high beams the HID stay on a second bulb lights up the reflective house around the projector so that the ballasts are constantly going on and off. If you want a good set of HID's get sylvania ones. They are super expensive compared to ebay ones but they will last much much longer.
