WTF? I've taken apart many sets with a glass lens and always used the bake method. YMMV I guess? I am using these as my retrofit base - http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/230969926450?lpid=82
I will create a thread once all my stuff comes in and i make them or I will contribute my results to a thread such as this one.

Does anyone know if these are glass or plastic?

Depends on who you ask. Glass is more sturdy and won't fade snd yellow over time but it can be more difficult to take apart.

Plastic is easier to take apart and gives the projector light crisper, cleaner lines. But the lens could crack over time and turn yellow.

I myself, prefer the plastic. But like I said, it depends who you ask.

Well if I get the kit then I won't be the one taking them apart. I would rather not have to clean the plastic lenses once they yellow.

To prevent the yellowing you can do as Vincenza V suggested. Which is to apply a few coats of UV resistant wax which then prevents that from happening.

I used Zymol wax for 2 years on a set of plastic EBay lens on my old Lexus. Baked in the sun everyday, never turned yellow in the 2 years (then sold the car). I waxed them once, MAYBE twice a month. It worked for me.

Did you just put black in the box for the shoud or did you use a paint code?

OK I'll just order them. I'm still hesitant because no one has got theirs yet.

Should be soon. I don't think there really is much to be worried about. What are you worried about?

I just don't know the quality of them and what the halos would look like
