Default hi milage lift question

My 94 xj has 267000 miles on the body and suspension. I want to do a 3" lift on it so I can put 31" tires on. My buddy got me the rough country 1.5" lift for Xmas. Looking at the website the 3" is $10 more. I called rc and they said I could exchange the lift. But looking at the site it shows a 3" coil and a add a leaf spring. With this mileage and the suspension never apart would it be better the install the 1.5 now and then when I have some more cash put some v8 Cherokee coils in and buy a full leaf spring? My worry is that once I start taking apart the leaf I'm going to have to do a full rebuild on it and for that matter maybe new is better. I thought the 1.5 would get me what I wanted since I was told my jeeep was already lifted but I was lied to. Still I got it for $800 with little rust and a documented 65k 99 grand Cherokee engine and all new brake components.

I'm from jersey. Surprisingly its not to bad only one hole by Tue trans tunnel and some surface rust. I've done suspension work on a few blazes only a few years old that turned to nightmares so I'm a little leary of taking down my daily driver.

Don't be surprised when the rear shock bolts snapp in half. Don't bother with the V8 Grand Cherokee coils either. Go with the 3 inch lift now. The, "I'll go with a bigger lift later thoery", never works. You will spend more money on a lift that way. Take your time and do it right the first time.

What is wrong with the Grand Cherokee coils? Im planning a cheap lift and was told they would be fine for a couple inches.
