Just to put the thread to rest with some sort of "conclusion" (yeah, right!) 
Below are some pics of the new and improved front end. The death wobble is gone at this point. I replaced the shocks, upper control arms, welded a new bracket for one of the lower control arms on the axle, installed some RC control arm drop brackets, replaced the anti-sway bar links, replaced the tie rods, and then had a 4WD laser alignment done along with the tires getting balanced.
It rides very soft in comparison now, a bit too soft actually... feels like it floats a bit. But, absolutely no more death wobble issues.
At some point, I plan to swap out the drag bar and steering dampener. I think that'll fix the floating I'm feeling through the steering wheel.
It's a pleasure to drive through the streets and hit a pot hole without feeling like I'm going to crash or like my neck is getting whip-lash from the stiff suspension.
