Help with interior sound system
I'm in the current debate to pick out the perfect subwoofer for my jeep. I have narrowed it down to the pioneer brand of subs. yet I'm not sure on which type of sub i should get.
Here are my options:
The Pioneer Champion 10" Subwoofer
Max Music Power: 3,000 W (800 W Nominal)
or
The Pioneer shallow mount 10" subwoofer
Max Music Power: 800 W (200 W Nominal)
Now there are some clear differences. but as of right now its a tough choice. when i listen to music i dont want to hear a "muddy bassy" sound which i am thinking will come from the Champion Series Sub. i want it to be clear and have a got hit. Although i want it to be clear and hit well, i also want it to be loud, which steers me away from the shallow subs.
If i choose to get the 10" champion series, i will only buy one subwoofer and a regular sized box. If i choose to buy the shallow mounts i will probably end up buying 2 subwoofers in a thinner truck styled box.
I also found in this forum a member who put his subs on the side of the back of the jeep
if someone has this set up could you tell me if it has a nice sound quality being mounted there. Also how to lead the wires from the sub to the amp since it seems to be enclosed in the little cubby-hole

Do the first one. Shollow mounts are designed for tight spots i had kicker shollows in my silverado. They do soung good but not to loud in a little box. If ur interested i have 2 10 " jl w3s a 600/1v2 amp and box for 400. Dont know where u live or wat u lookin to spend. The jl,s sounded good in mine but just upgraded to solo barics.

First option fo sho i had 2 12" premier champion series 12's in a ported box and it was literally the best system I ever had. Sound quality was amazing and they slammed. I dont really like shallow subs but if u put 2 in truck boxes u are defeating the purpose even tho they are shallows the truck boxes will make them sound like crap. IMO 2 of the champions in a ported box would be beast. Not too loud but still have amazing sound quality. But im a loud kinda guy hence the reason I said 2 lol. Im just guessing u want to go with one to keep cargo space? If u do id say get a ported box fo sho ! Just my $.02

My 2 10" L7s are pretty rediculous i have a 1000 rms alpine pushing them they are ran parrellel puttin them at 1 ohm. If u lookin for somw insanity lol get this lol. My jl's did not even compare and jl is one of the best. Only thing that rattles is my rack and i put one of them rubber mats from truck beds up there. Still does a little but if anybody has the same rattle issue i reccomend doin this just bolt it down lol. It helped tremendously. Oh and when lookin at "watts" ignore it. U want to know the rms.
