Heat evacuation
I am looking to cool off my Cherokees engine. I bought a set if hood vents off of gen right offroad but a couple guys I work with are telling me I need to be worried about water getting in and screwing with my electronics and that I might be better off just cutting my hood and making a cowl hood. Any advice from people with either the vents or a cowl hood? And how do the vents hold up with mud and water splashed up on the hood?

i'm not sure which ones you got (i'm assuming the ones that run front to back on both sides) but there's plenty of space to put them to where even if water did get in it aint gonna hit something it shouldnt

Under the hood gets wet when you drive in the rain so unless your in a huge down pour not much will get down there , I just installed vents on my XJ a few weeks back after spraying them with a hose and washing my Jeep the engine bay was pretty much dry there were a few drops of water on the Intake manifold but thats it . I like the looks of the genright vents but I couldn't justify the cost so I bought some vents off E bay that ran me $25.00 shipped for the pair .
