Default Headliner.

In my experience headliner fabric pulling away from the foam and sagging is a fairly common issue with older Cherokees. I have an 89 Laredo, and don't want to drop the 150-200 bucks to get it redone. The only thing is, how do I take off the dome light and the front box. All the rest of the trim is extremely self explanatory. Anybody got tips or experience with this? Anything helps.

It's easy. Pull off the dome light cover and you'll see the bulb along with 2 posts with retaining washers on em. I just pulled those off with a flathead and took the bulb out and the whole assembly comes out after disconnecting a plug. It's easy dude. The hardest part for me was taking off the rear seatbelts and dropping the soundbar

You have a 89 so your headliner is probably that soft finer glass crap, if so, go to a pick and pull and get one from a newer model

You could do thick fabric, just be careful you don't use too much glue because it will soak through. And be gentle while scraping, those foam type boards are easy to rip.

Mines held up just fine for over a year now. Damn thing bent in half while I was pulling it out but you'd never notice.

The newer boards are so much nicer and easy to do.

I've been to all the you pulls in reasonable driving distance for other parts, but it seems like they all were sagging like mine. But I'll keep looking cause that seems like a more reliable and cost effective thing to do. Thank u.
