Yep. Bought a set of housings off ebay that included "100/90" watt bulbs. Used the Putco wiring harness. My headlights are still pretty crappy. My guess is the cheap bulbs. Think I'm better off getting some brand name ones?
I used No-alox on all connections, freshly sanded grounds put in with self tappers.

Yeah. The light output is just barely an improvement over what I had. Also, to eliminate some variables: New duralast gold battery in January, rebuilt starter February, all new 4ga battery cables in March.

Haha, yep those are the ones. I don't have the money to drop on the Hella housings though, and in any case, I doubt that the housing will make a very significant difference. I guess I'll pick up some decent H4 bulbs and if it's still crappy I'll buy some better housings in a couple months.

Lemme guess, you got some "Diamond cut" or "Crystal cut" housings? That's definitely why. Get some Autopal housings if you can't afford Hellas. They're like ~$40

My hella dot housings for 45 for the pair.... In 2007. I guess they're more expensive now. The housing is just as important as the bulb.

Which housings did you get? Autopals? If so the bulbs that come with them are ok but not great. Upgrading to better bulbs is a good idea.

If you got some other random housings then the bulbs that came with them are a crap shoot.

OK, so a friend had a set of Hella 60/55 H4s and I put one in and the difference is huge. At least 50% more light on low, probably 70% more on high. The ****ty bulbs that came with the housings are sure as heck not 100/90s lol. Anyways, it's still not a nice white light that I'm looking for. Doesn't have to be pure white, but just something a little less yellow.
