Off the top of my head and some quick Google-fu....
Raw info regarding UNECE regulations here:
http://www.unece.org/trans/main/welcwp29.html
More info about ECE markings here:
http://www.danielsternlighting.com/t...des/codes.html
Some explanation regarding DOT's old, ignorant assertion that headlights can't be aimed horizontally while ECE performs sorcery in order to aim lamps horizontally here:
http://www.danielsternlighting.com/tech/aim/aim.html
There is more to these standards than just cutoff shape. Standards for where in the pattern light should be distributed and how much one area can differ in intensity from another, but I can't find a nice source for that information to provide in a link right now.
Recently, DOT has discovered what Europe has known for decades--horizontal/visual aiming--but unfortunately many of the DOT versions of products marketed to us (200mm housings) have not updated their design. They are still legal despite lacking certain updates in design. This is why ECE still reigns supreme from our perspective while owner of newer vehicles might have a little more comparing/contrasting to do when deciding between DOT and ECE.

Yep, mine are supposed to be in on Monday last I checked. $16 of that cost is shipping and the vendor uses the cheapest/slowest possible shipping method. Still overall the price is right and I'm interested to see how they work out. I already have the wiring harness upgrade with relays installed. (Unfortunately I did not know about the eBay harness with fuse and ceramic sockets for $21, paid more for one from LMC Truck which has no fuse and plastic sockets. Should do the job though Even the standard sealed beams are noticably improved.)
