go back to the sealed beams to rule out new lights.

no, only after. But I did not do the harness upgrade yet.

or not. The sealed beams are terrible. And the lamp isn't the issue, my blinkers no longer work either.

Did you find out if the 12V was coming from the vehicle or a problem with the harness?

yes I have 12v from the harness

With the lights all turned to off? Sounds like a switch be broken

I don't remember to be honest if lights were off.. I'll have to check again tomorrow. I was in a hurry today. I'll post up tomorrow to be specific

Since turn signals are impacted I'd be looking at the multifunction switch first

I think it'd be a good thing to test lol. It's very conicidental that everything was fine BEFORE you did work... I don't like throwing parts at things. Very expensive way to troubleshoot.

id at least try disconnecting one light at a time. the short could be in the filaments for lo and high (as in if they are shorted, the low beam could be energizing the high beam filament (circuit)). good luck hope its the switch and is a quick fix.
