Ok, here's an update. I disconnected the PUTCO fog light relay... no change. Both grounds used for the PUTCO harness are good. Tested relays that came with the PUTCO harness and both are good.

I don't think the new harness is the problem because the high beams already weren't working before I installed it. I was hoping the upgraded harness and new bulbs would fix whatever was going with the high beams in the first place.

I've done just about all I can do at this point. I have a feeling the previous owner screwed something up with the stock headlight and/or fog light wiring. Time to call a shop who can track down the problem for me.

Thanks to everyone for their input and suggestions.

Hopefully it's something simply we've overlooked. Just be careful taking it to a shop bc it can be a project chasing these types of things down. Costing alot of money. Some shops will tell you this and try to save you the money but others will go right ahead and bill you for every little thing..

The only other option is that the triggers provided by the single connector from the old factory harness are not happening. The Putco harness closes circuits based on inputs from the light switch through the factory harness.

If I remember correctly, the high beam trigger is a ground (negative) signal that flips the harness relay to turn off low beams and turn on high beams.

You can disconnect the connector from the old factory harness and debug it by touching ground to the wire that triggers high beam.

Alternatively, try pulling back the original connector from the other side (behind the other headlight assembly) and use that to connect. Perhaps you will get the proper signals...
