I respectfully disagree...

Okay. I guess I'm just saying a Renix manifold is further from a header than an HO manifold. Show those stockers side by side in a photo.

Yeah, its a better design. I agree with you there...the renix one is closer to a cast iron log style manifold.

Let's see a side by side photo of Renix vs HO.

A header is used to remove backpressure more effectivley correct? Where each pipe is the same length and dumps the exhaust into a larger collector as each piston cycles, so wouldn't there still be a gain from the HO to header and even more so from the renix to header, considering their shape and design?

Sorta. These are 6 cylinder pushrod engines, not twin-cam 4 valve per cylinder ones. The factory manifolds were better than most OEMs.

in both ho and renix manifolds, the exhaust gas pulses interupt eachother. (yes i'm sure if i strapped an HO manifold on my renix i MIGHT see one or two hp but why?) the idea behind a 'header' is to basically get rid of the interuption and smooth out the flow of pulses, basically like getting people to evacuate in an orderly fashion instead of every 'pulse' for himself and the resulting chaos that ensues.

thas my take on it anyways. g'nite

Well put. It's just that I've never seen any dyno figures on what a header adds to the 4.0 over stock. I'm sure other engines have higher percentages of gains than the 4.0.
