Default HD Tranny--Transfer case regear?

I just purchased a parts jeep with several up grades on it, the po told me and has listed with the jeep that it has a HD tranny and the transfer case has been regeared. What does this mean and what would I benefit from it? The XJ has a 4.5+ lift on it with no sye installed and the drive shaft measures 32 1/2" from tip to tip. Thanks guys!

Sounds like he may be full of crap on a coupla counts.

HD trans, which I've never heard of, but no SYE?

As for the transfer cases, there are kits to get you a lower 4 low.

Kinda what I was thinking....however it doesn't matter I really didn't plan on using the tranny anyway. How can I tell if the TC needs to be swapped to my rig, or is that just preference.

Yes I got an amazing deal on the parts jeep and realized that it had all this extra stuff on it made me happy, however it's my first time doing stuff other than normal maintinence. My stock dirve shaft is approx 29+ inches the shaft on the parts jeep is 32 1/2. Is this a simple swap? Also I'm in between the sye should I go ahead and install or wait and take my chances without it? I don't need to spend any money that's not needed. Thanks
