Okay here goes nothing. I have a 91 xj with a 4.6 stroker. Block is renix bored .030 over with 4.2 rods and crank. Has sealed power h802 pistons, stock cam, and a Cloyes double roller timing chain.
The plan:
I want to mount the turbo underneath the starter and not run a intercooler. I dont off-road anymore but i do have 31's and lifted 3' in the front and 2' in the rear. I like the fact that i don't need to slow down when i see a dip. So what i would like to know is what else is needed? Im aware the turbo will need oil lines to it. Can i just buy a Oil Cooler and do a line interrupt? Also im running 9.5:1 compression so what my max boost? I also have some 28lbph injectors. Now i have the piping for intake/exhaust issues figured out i would just like to know about boost control and anything else i haven't mentioned. If i forgot or didn't leave enough info i either forgot to wright it down or i dont know. So please help me. FYI i drive my jeep like a 17 year old drives his honda. No A-hole answers please.

1st problem will be running a turbo that low will cause drainage issues. Oil will pool in the turbo housing and cook. It needs to be mounted at a min of 6 inches above the oil pan.
2nd problem with a non intercooled turbo setup is jeeps have a high underhood temp as is. Now put a turbo in there and you will be pushing 400+ degree air into the tb... you will destroy any performance advantages of a turbo and possibly cause detonation in the intake mani.

Okay i know where to mount it instead and where my intercooler is going. Now what else do i need? I was wanting to mount it there to make it easy on the installation but i have other ideas.

It won't run right if you use the stock map

The further away from the exhaust manifold the turbo is; less efficient it will be and the slower spool time it will have.
Like mentioned, you will not be able to run a turbo without an intercooler or meth injection on a 4.0 engine with causing predetonation.
I would start at a max of 8psi.
