has anyone here....
Replaced bushings in leaf springs in xj?? How much of a PITA is it? I was told not to even mess with them just get two piece polys.
I have lift springs on it now(dont know size, but from center of hub to flare is 28") and a pair of stocks with good bushings, what issues might i run into by just using the stocks and mine currently? Any help is appreciated.

Just to get it straight. You want to run the stock leaf spring bushings in your aftermarket lift springs?
It will probably be a pita to get them out based on my experience of getting them in without a press. Also some lift springs do not use the stock sized bushings.

they're not bad to remove. I clamped mine down on a table and gently removed them with a blow torch. that smelled good. new ones went in super easy, but damn RE charges a butt load for those. I would definitely go with 2 piece poly if you can find them in the right diameter. it's probably cheaper too and easier to replace in the future

My main thing it wanting to be sure theyre not going to come back out first time i flex it haha. But just empty every pocket is taking a toll on me. And this is really my only option. Wont be able to get two pieces for a while. But my rear end is walking really bad and killing my tires.

Stay away from poly. Check out stengelbros for quality bushings for a real good price. Torch the old ones out then cut the sleeve and crush them. Put the new bushings in the freezer for a few hours. Use a big c clamp to press the new ones in. Super simple.
