Default hack n tap go, no go?

So as always before i proceed with any purchases i like to ask the opinion of fellow jeepers . And in this case due to my 4.5 inches of lift an sye is in order. ive read up a little and shipped around for an sye and for poor broke me a hack n tap sye looks like it fits the bill. considering the largest tire size i plan to run is 33 (32s for now) how wel do these hack n tap systems work? and i was also told i can run a front driveshaft as a replacemnt in the rear does anyone recomend this? any help would be greatly appreciated and thank you in advance

Default Hack-n-Tap

I have the hack-n-tap from IronRock offroad.
Installed on 242 transfer case and I use a stock front drive shaft. Tried and true set-up for many jeepers.
I strongly suggest buying the 'drill jig' as well. I have installed two and centering the hole in the hardened output shaft was the tricky part. The jig solves that. And with the yoke get the tap and drill bits, they are high quality.

I believe the RE Rubicon Express hack&tap uses a flange type (flat disk) SYE and requires a flange adapter.
Maybe you can verify.
The IRO hack&tap is a yoke that is used in numerous applications for the 1310 size u-joints.
I can post pictures if needed.

I did a hack and tap pretty recently but I didn't like the rubicon express type with the flange thingy. I bought a yoke from Powertrain Industries which was like 80 bucks and a front driveshaft 17 bucks at the junk yard on a 50% off day with the u joints all together I spent about 130 and saved on shipping since Power train industries is down the street. It was easier than I thought to cut the output shaft and drilling it and tapping it. You also have to cut the yoke a bit so it won't be so long.
Sorry for the pics being sideways I'm on a phone. :P

Correction looked under the Jeep after it stopped raining here and it is not a flange setup so it's got to be the IRO hack n tap.

I think I may go with iro just to avoid the flange drama and they have that neet jig for it haha (what ever makes it easier) and a guy down the street has a bum Cherokee so I'll see if hell part with the shaft. Just an off question both the np242 and 231 require sye right?

Your'e good. Both type hack-n-taps work with 231 and 242.
You will need to know if you have the short or long tailcone.

Do you have the part number for the yoke? That would be greatly appreciated. I am going to do this next month and buying from PTI sounds like a good way to save a few bucks for the gas pump later. Thanks
