I have a 1990 xj 4wd and almost all of my gauges arent working. the only one that does work is my speedometer. the rest of the gauges dont light up and are reading extremely high rather than zero except for the tachometer which is sitting at zero. any help would be much appreciated

I will asume you have checked both plug-ins going to the cluster as securely attached. Good time to check the bulbs for burnt ones.

When you upgrade an older simple gauge cluster for a full gauge cluster, I think you are supposed to remove both battery terminals and touch them to each other for 10 seconds to null out the computer so it will address any changes. My 'new' oil pressure gauge read off the chart at first and is slowly acting normally but I need to do the battery trick to see if it will make things work right.

Try that and see what happens...
