Grinding noise after lift install HELP!!
Im not sure if Im posting this in the correct thread but I need help! I own a 2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport XJ and I just had a Rough Country 3 inch lift installed on it. The lift came with full leaf packs, shocks, coil springs, and steering stabilizer. My problem is at highway speeds Im getting a grinding noise coming from what I think is the the front of the Jeep that sounds like a heavy gust of air rushing under it. The noise comes and goes. I have never heard this noise before and need to know what this is so I can fix it. This only happens at around 50mph-ish and doesn't do it all the time. Could this be u-joint, driveshaft, transfer case, or loosened bolts noise? Im not sure how to pinpoint the noise exactly. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks.

1) what t-case do you have ?
2) Take out the front driveshaft and see if the noise goes away or changes.
3) Swap tires front to rear and see if it changes or goes away

Ok, all original tcase...but which one....231 or 242 or ??
Let's try this....what are the positions of you t-case lever inside the jeep ??
I would do the tire move BEFORE the new ones are put on to try and isolate the noise to the front or the rear.
