sounds like it's a better deal than the first one you bought. still I say pass and buy a stocker and build it yourself

you were able to afford $6000 on a 96..
the only reason people will tell you to build your own is because 9 out of 10 times the 'built' ones on craigslist were built like crap and someone is just trying to dump their garbage on you
rustys sucks anyway
if the guy had regeared or locked it I'd say take a look

Also agreed with everything stated above and people can say something regeared and its not like atmos said and though u can its a pain to get it all checked out also 90 percent of the fun of having a jeep is building it yourself and even if u cant get everything off the bat u can save up since ur only in highschool and build it overthe years

no trust me i love working on the jeep. ive done all the work since i got it. the only reason i could afford the 6000 dollar jeep is that my parents put 5000 towards and ive been paying them off the rest of it slowly. i can also only work summers and some weekends because of school and sports so i dont have a lot of money to put into the jeep which is why i was looking into an already built jeep.

reason I wouldnt buy one like that, already modded out, is that you dont know what kind of wheeler he was. Did he baby his rig(not likely) or did he dog it to death, with a "hell or high water" attitude.

Before I bought it, I would ask him to let me ride along while he wheeled it.

quick question: i already have rustys 3 inch lift (all new leaf one) that is just over a year old so the leaf springs are still very stiff. i could i get the 4.5 inch AAL and add it onto the 3 inch springs to go up to 4.5 or will this put me over 4.5? would a t-case drop be sufficient in this case?

I would expect it to put you over 4.5, because that ONE alone is meant to put you at 4.5, and if you add it to a leaf pack already at 3, I would think it would make it 7.5.

And to your second question: with yours being a 96, anything over about 4 would prolly need a SYE.

I can tell you from personal experiance that these guys are right...

I bought mine with a 4.5" lift on it and since than I have completely replaced my whole suspension.

Buy a stock one and DIY... It might actually be cheaper if you peice a lift together.

Not true in every case. My 89 is at 5.5", no sye or tcase drop, and I have a very minor vibration at 55, which I expect to go away when I drop the tcase.

But with newer xjs, I think you are right.
