Oh that a loud one. You'll be fine with it in under the hood. You should of said that before. Mine is only a 11w one I'm but its also thru my cb also.

How well it will be heard will depend most of all on the wattage of the PA System then the rating of the speaker & placement. 100w will be good and the closer you can get it to the grill the better. For Law Enforcement we placed our speakers in the front and at a slightly downward angle so the siren/radio would reflect off the pavement somewhat. This was in unmarked cars, if you shop around you can pick an old siren/PA with a remote head for $25-$50 depending on how nice they are they are mostly 100w units some higher. When you find one try to pickup a good speaker also they are expensive for a good one.

It's a cb set up with a cobra cb
And I think it's 100 watts. It's plenty loud I'll tell you that! You can here words clearly to about 200 yards and then is get kinda distorted after that. But things like sirens and stuff are loud and clear up to about 300 yards

Oh it's so fun! The thing about it freezing like this in texas is only a few people actually get out on the roads so it's much more fun and safe

I recently installed a cb with a pa. It's a cobra. It says it puts out 4 watts of power so I got a 25 watt pa. If I get a 100 watt pa will it make a difference? I called cobra and they said it wouldn't make a difference, but they could be wrong

^ they require an 12V power source to power the amplifier in the speaker. They are definitely louder.

If those mentioned are truly 100W output, then it must be REALLY LOUD.
