Going bigger
3 inch is the sweet spot for these Cherokees. With only a 3 inch you can use a transfer case drop kit, track bar relocation bracket, stock lower control arms, stock brake lines, stock pitman arm, etc, etc. Once you go above that you're adding a bunch of headaches that can only be addressed by the addition of costly, quality parts.
I got my sye and driveshaft from Adams driveshaft as a kit for 415 and free shipping ordered it yesterday and they made the driveshaft and they sent it out same day
Now quick out of the way question. Now how do I make the jeep level when I don't really need to go any hight. It's not bad but where I just have could in the front it sits a bit lower then the rear. I've seen so many jeeps like this.
Adjustable spacers in the front or maybe adjustable shackles in the rear.

You still need to get rid of the blocks, either way.
The adjustable coil spring spacers up front would be a replacement for your current ones and would allow you to level out your Jeep from front to back and even side to side. They work great!
Here is what I'm talking about:http://www.quadratec.com/products/16156_000.htm
What he said. Lose the blocks if it's at all in your budget.

Honestly at this point since you ran the blocks and your leafs are probably frowning, either get a new HD set of stock springs and a longer shackle or go for a pack like OME 2" lift. Isnt cheap but you wanna do it right now.
Once you start going over 3" of lift, things like a SYE and new trac bar are a must. And if you gonna wheel it, don't get a TC drop, only good as a temp solution but you wanna do it right.
Stop talking to your diesel truck friends. They can do blocks. We can't. Any questions you have, run them by us. That's why were here. Well be brutaly honest with you
Edit: when you loose the unsafe, waste of time block, you'll need to lift the rear again and at this point, just throwing a longer shackle May not work if your leafs are already worn due to the blocks.

Ok. So you got the 3" coil upfront and block in the rear. Take some pics of your jeep from the side and post. You need to ditch the blocks once you do that you'll loose that lift and need to compensate. Depending on the condition of your leafs you can either go lift shackle, or my favorite new leaf pack which is only about 125 per pack depending where you look.

Very good questions. Re leafs are really good. Main downside, for some, is some people get more than 3.5" of lift because they provide some good high rate leaf packs. Some bags of cement can fix that in a few weeks
